Many people choose to vacation in Arkansas to get back in touch with nature and explore different parts of the Natural State. Blue Lady Resort is surrounded with some of the most beautiful landscape the state has to offer. While visiting the resort, you should plan for a day of hiking or biking through some of these trails.
DAVID’S TRAIL AND PIGEON CREEK TRAIL
These two popular trails are only a few miles away from the Blue Lady Resort and offer a great day of hiking or mountain biking for the entire family. Both trails offer a glance at the beautiful Norfork Lake and are well maintained. Pigeon Creek Trail is about a 4.2 mile loop trail system while David’s Trail is considered a moderate point to point hiking trail.
SYLLAMO MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL
The Syllamo (or Sylamore) Mountain Bike Trail is more for those seeking trails for mountain biking. It offers 50 miles of interlocking loops to ride. There are four trailheads. One can be found just a short distance from Blue Lady Resort on Highway 5 North. These trails offer a variety of levels, so be extremely careful if you are new to mountain biking.
THE BUFFALO NATIONAL RIVER
If you are really in search for a little adventure, then taking a little drive to the Buffalo National River near Ponca, Arkansas, should be on your to-do list. Here you can find two of the most popular trails in the area if not the state, Lost Valley and Whitaker Point. Both of these trails offer sights and scenery that just have to be seen. The best part about hiking these trails is that you can take a swim or float the river in a canoe afterward.
Whether you are hiking or biking, make sure you pack a snack, tons of water, sunscreen, your camera, and take a few friends. It is also a good idea to do a little more research for any trail you plan on hiking or biking to make sure it is suitable for your level and if there are things you should know before you take on the trail.
